Inclusion, sport and new challenges: the “Champagne Football” project presented at the Matteini stadium in Terranuova

Arezzo, May 23, 2025 – Inclusion, sport and new challenges: the “Calcio Champagne” project presented at the Matteini stadium in Terranuova
The first match of the “Calcio Champagne” project, an innovative and inclusive initiative promoted by Arkadia and ASD Terranuova Traiana, with the patronage of the Municipality of Terranuova Bracciolini, took place yesterday afternoon at the Mario Matteini municipal stadium in Terranuova Bracciolini. The friendly match was played against our friends from Olmoponte Santafirmina and provided excitement, smiles and a great example of sportsmanship.
The match, in the name of sport and sharing, represented the beginning of a new adventure that sees the Arkadia team officially become part of the ASD Terranuova Traiana. An important step that strengthens the values of inclusion, solidarity and collective growth.
“Calcio Champagne” is much more than a sports project: it is a concrete example of integration, where people with disabilities and people without disabilities play together, sharing the field, the effort and the joy of the game.
“The goal is ambitious – said Andrea Attili, head of the youth sector of ASD Terranuova Traiana – that is, that this is a pilot project, to make this experience a model to be extended to other sports realities in the area”.
“Thanks to Arkadia and Terranuova Traiana who, together, carry forward the value of inclusion in the most accessible and concrete way possible – said the councilor for social policies Giulia Bigiarini. This project is a living testimony of how sport can be a bridge between people and a tool for true social participation”.
The profound meaning of the initiative is also underlined by the words of Daniele Lapi, Arkadia representative: “this is a true inclusive football project: it is not a parallel or separate activity, but the boys and girls of Arkadia play football within the Terranuova Traina football club, together. It is a way to break down barriers and build authentic relationships, through play and sharing”.
